Think you’ve got a lot of data? The EPA knows data! In this session, hear about the experiences and lessons learned over the years as EPA has worked to geospatially enable Agency data, integrate it and visually display it for others to use. Learn how to avoid the pitfalls of converting legacy data for spatial display, best practices for integrating data from disparate programs with outside sources and base maps, and strategies for choosing the right terms and display options. EPA reps also will share their vision for further enabling data sharing using tools like data.gov and linked open data. Attendees to this case study will learn about EPA’s experience:

  • modifying legacy data sets
  • overcoming visualization challenges
  • designing a quality assurance (QA) plan for latitude/longitude data
